List of Golden Gate Transit routes

Golden Gate Transit (GGT) operates 46 bus routes consisting of four types[1][2]:

GGT does not permit local travel within San Francisco except to/from the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza and the Presidio (at Richardson Avenue and Francisco Street).

Note: Schedules are updated quarterly to improve schedule reliability and efficiency.[3] Route information listed below is current as of November 2011.

Basic service

Golden Gate Transit operates six (6) basic bus routes. Routes 10, 42, 70, 80, and 101 provide daily service (including holidays) between San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, and Contra Costa Counties. Route 40 is an express version of Route 42 and operates during weekday peak periods only.

Serving Sonoma and Marin Counties

Golden Gate Transit commute service from Sonoma County to Marin County employment centers, primarily in San Rafael, was discontinued in September 2010 due to low ridership.[4]

Local service

GGT operates local service within Marin County under contract with Marin Transit. Marin Transit determines the level of transit service and the fares for all local service.[5] See here for local service information.
